Placencia
Robert's Grove

Located on a small peninsula along Belize's southern coastline is the town of Placenica. With a distinctly _____ vibe, this beach community is home to about ____ residents and numerous tourists who flock the pristine waters. We enjoyed a four-night stay here and were able to take advantage numerous activities both onsite, in town and in the vicinity of Placencia.

Why You Should Visit: A small resort, the property offers amenities you would expect at a larger hotel including complimentary bicycles, kayaks, paddle boards (?), three pools, three restaurants and a bar, but on a much more intimate scale. The spacious rooms are comfortable, convenient and available in a variety of sizes for different group sizes. In addition to onsite activities, the hotel can make arrangements for offsite excursions, as well.
What To Do Here: Depart on a full-day snorkeling trip which from the marina located directly across the street. Also join a whale shark excursions (in season), explore nearby wildlife refuges, visit a cocoa farm and participate in a chocolate tasting, or go zip-lining, among several options. Borrow the complimentary bikes and take a ride into town to enjoy lunch and do some shopping, or stay onsite and relax by one of the three pools, kayak in the ocean or paddleboard.
About the Area: Located just outside of the lively beach town of Placencia, the town is full of local flavor while the surrounding area is home to many hotels and vacation homes. The feeling is very much of a Caribbean island and you will find it easy to get around and easy to find a variety of shops and restaurants.

Other Highlights: Like many towns in Belize, Placencia comes alive at night. Be sure to spend at least one evening dining in town to experience the festive atmosphere in town, and try one of several excellent dining options. There are a variety of restaurants serving everything from seafood to international cuisine.
Things to Know: It is easy to reach Placencia via small aircraft from either Belize City or other destinations throughout the country. The one road that stretches down the peninsula to the town is paved and in excellent shape, and it is easy to reach by car. We drove from San Ignacio, which was a pleasant _____ drive with a couple of stops, and flew back to Belize City to catch our international flight.
